More than 150 faculty members, academics and students attended the launch of SMU’s Asia Ready Conversations series. Speaker R. Gopalakrishnan urged India and China to deepen economic cooperation rather than view each other solely as competitors, noting that their longstanding trade and cultural ties could strengthen Asia’s growth and stability. SMU Professor of Information Systems (Education) and Vice Provost (Education Strategy and Innovations) Venky Shankararaman said the framework aims to deepen students’ understanding of Asia and how regional developments will shape leadership.
