Youth cite addiction, doom scrolling as common social media harms

At an event held at SMU on 14 September which marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SMU Centre for Digital Law and YouthTechSG, SMU Associate Professor of Law and Director of the Centre for Digital Law (CDL) Jason Grant Allen and SMU Vice President (Partnerships and Engagement) and Lee Kong Chian Professor of Communication & Technology Lim Sun Sun participated in a panel discussion on “From insight to action, making social media safer for youths”. Moderated by SMU Research Affiliate and Adjunct Lecturer Josh Lee Kok Thong, the discussion brought together experts to delve deeper into the findings of YouthTechSG’s Youth Digital Pulse Report released at the event.
