SMU's graduating class of 2025 will be the first in Singapore to receive a Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) detailing their activities and skills alongside their academic record. SMU Dean of Students and Professor of Sociology (Practice) Paulin Straughan highlighted this initiative, along with SMU's prior introduction of mandatory internships and community service, as demonstrating their commitment to holistic, career-ready graduates in a changing job market. SMU Head of Co-Curriculum Development Alvin Sim also noted SMU's collaboration with employers to intentionally cultivate workplace-relevant skills in students. While commending SMU for pioneering the CCT at SMU's co-curricular symposium, guest of honour Education Minister Chan Chun Sing cautioned against it becoming solely another metric for students to pursue. At the same event, SMU also announced lifelong career support for its alumni to align with national efforts to strengthen career resilience and lifelong learning.
