Law students from SMU’s Yong Pung How School of Law clinched top honours at two of the world’s most prestigious moot competitions – the 66th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C., and the 22nd Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong SAR. The double win, especially the Jessup championship, which has not been won by a Singapore university since 2001, elevates SMU's legal education standing globally. SMU Provost Professor Alan Chan expressed immense pride, attributing the success to the students' talent, faculty and staff support, alumni and the entire SMU Law community. He emphasised that the wins affirm the law school's position as a global leader in advocacy and legal education, which is particularly significant during the university's 25th anniversary.
