Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Education, graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour and gave a speech. To enable individuals to meet evolving industry needs in today’s AI-driven world, the IHLs are offering eight new AI programmes to cater to different learning and job needs. SMU Academy will launch two advanced certificate courses for business analysts and digital marketing experts. Michael Low, Deputy Director, Curriculum Development & Digitalisation, SMU Academy, said in an interview that participants will engage in classroom training and have the opportunity to interact with industry partners. The two courses are expected to be launched in the last quarter of this year. SMU Provost Professor Timothy Clark said that in today’s competitive climate, understanding how to navigate AI is crucial and relevant for learners across sectors. He added, “The 2024 SkillsFuture Festival is testimony to the collaborative efforts and partnerships between academia, industry, and government in exploring the future of AI and its impact on skillsets and employability, and in supporting Singaporeans on their journey of continuous learning and innovation.”
