Singapore has surpassed Switzerland to claim the top spot on the Global Elite Quality Index. Jointly announced by SMU and the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, the "2024 Elite Quality Index" analysed 151 countries using 146 indicators. The index measures conceptual elements such as Power, Creative Destruction and Unearned Income to determine whether the elites of a given country created or extracted value from their nation. Singapore leads the ranking with a score of 65.3 points, followed closely by Switzerland with 64.8 points. Netherlands ranks third, with Japan and New Zealand following closely behind.
