Further laws needed to protect victims of online harms: Shanmugam

Minister for Law and Home Affairs K. Shanmugam delivered the opening speech at the three-day Online Harms Symposium held at SMU, where lawyers, educators and other industry players gathered to discuss hot topics, including deepfakes, cancel culture and harassment. Mr Shanmugam highlighted the need for the law to be expanded to enable victims of harmful online content to take action and protect themselves.
