Commentary: Today’s Raffles Institution is different from the one I attended, but same fundamentals should endure, including contributions to society

In a commentary, SMU Associate Professor of Law and Raffles Institution (RI) alumnus Eugene Tan shared how today's RI is different from the one he attended. He discussed the need to rightsize the role of education, with popular schools like RI being the vanguard of the generational shift for schools to be student-centric and cater to different learning needs. He also pointed out the need for students to inculcate an abiding sense of duty and of service to others beyond mastery of knowledge in their chosen fields.
