The Singapore Police Force Scholarship and Ministry of Home Affairs Scholarships Award Ceremony yesterday was attended by 26 scholarship recipients and their families. This year's Singapore Police Force Scholarship has been awarded to Inspectors Raeka Ee Pei Ying and Nigel Ng Hong Xun. Insp Ee, a first-year SMU student, said police work meaningfully combines her passion for helping others with her interest in the criminal justice system. She shared what she and her friends did when they found a cleaner sleeping in a shower cubicle during her Singapore Sports School days. The incident reminded her of the importance of helping others when in a position of privilege, and that is what she feels policing can offer.
