In a commentary, Dean of the SMU School of Computing and Information Systems Professor Pang Hwee Hwa explained the need for higher learning institutes to change strategies to groom IT talent as the demand for deep tech grows. He explained the evolving trends in computing and how incorporating computing in the syllabi of higher education in general, such as SMU's Computing and Law degree jointly designed and delivered by the School of Computing & Information Systems and the Yong Pung How School of Law, will help Singapore meet its Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2025 objectives.
