SMU Access was established in 2017 to support students from lower income families with their tuition fees. The financial aid scheme is seed-funded by the Quantedge Foundation Scholarship, a scholarship programme endowed by an $8 million gift from Quantedge Foundation. To date, SMU Access has 108 beneficiaries, of which 80 were awarded Quantedge Foundation Scholarship. SMU students Janice Sui Mei Ting from School of Accountancy and Claudia Si Tho Zhi Jing from School of Social Sciences shared how they have benefitted from SMU Access and Quantedge Scholarship respectively.
