Ameera Abdul Wahab, who graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy (High Merit) from SMU, said that she was forced to reject an offer by the University after graduating from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with excellent grades because she could not afford the fees. For one year, she worked as an accountant at a tour company and from there her employer contacted Mendaki. With the subsidy received, she was able to pursue her accountancy degree at SMU, and also giving tuition to two students. Because of her efficiency and ability, her professor recommended her for a three-month internship with KPMG in December 2018. In July last year, she was offered a job by the accountancy firm, before she graduated.
