In an article about developments in MSc accounting courses, SMU Associate Professor of Accounting (Practice) Wang Jiwei, who is Director of the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) and Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) programmes, said knowing how to understand and analyse data, and how to use analytics to optimise decision making are among the most important skillsets. He added that SMU has introduced a specialisation in data and analytics. “There is demand for domain experts who understand finance, accounting, data [and] technology,” he said.
