At the inaugural Mapletree Annual Lecture held at SMU yesterday, SMU Professor of Finance Francis Koh, who is also a Mapletree Professor of Real Estate, shared several ways how more real-estate investment trusts (Reits) can be attracted to list in Singapore. This would enhance the vibrancy of the Singapore Exchange. In his address, Prof Koh also touched on how better and extended tax concessions and the relaxing of impediments to listing would make the climate more enticing for Reits.
