Based on research data from the Singapore Life Panel, SMU’s Centre for Research on the Economics of Ageing (CREA) revealed that when considering retirement, Singaporeans would look first at their financial circumstances. Another interesting insight was the fact that health plays a relatively small role in an individual’s work expectations – contrary to popular beliefs. These research findings in the field of health and labour economics were discussed during a media roundtable co-hosted by SMU’s CREA and Hitotsubashi University’s Research Centre for Health Policy.
