Revisiting thoughts on future of bicycle sharing in Singapore

In a commentary, SMU researcher Xu Cheng Wei examined the rise and fall of the bicycle sharing market in Singapore. He shared various reasons why the industry was doomed to fail, and how circumstances set it up for an extremely short lifespan in the market. Additionally, the bad behaviour of users had also made it inconvenient for the society, which resulted in a wastage of resources, whilst encouraging crime. Mr Xu concluded by suggesting how the market may be reinvented, so that it benefits all parties involved.
