SMU Centre for Research on the Economics & Ageing (CREA) released a study that revealed that Singaporeans with a higher proportion of wealth in housing equity will experience a lesser sense of preparedness for retirement. According to data from the Singapore Life Panel, CREA’s flagship project, which has been collecting detailed data from nearly 12,500 Singaporeans aged 50 to 70 every month since July 2015, there is reason to believe that older Singaporeans could do more to unlock the value of their homes.
