Family business advisors have a key role to play in this evolution process. They are well-placed to help business families cope withchanging dynamics related to the family or the business, or both. Given the complexity of the structures of the family, the ownership, and the business, advisors can play an integral role in balancing the demands of these three overlapping dimensions.
However, a single advisor may not have all the competencies needed to address the myriad issues that the family or business faces. Hence, close consultative partnership between advisors and family members is critical. Advisors should be receptive to working with a multidisciplinary team in order to provide optimal advice and solutions to the families they serve, as well.
