SMU School of Information Systems received a 15% increase in applications from last year. Overall, SMU received over fourteen thousand applications this year, a 6% increase from last year. From August this year, SMU will offer a new academic major in Politics, Law and Economics (PLE). The PLE had received 1108 applications, far exceeding the intake of 45 students. Additionally, the Singapore Institute of Technology and NUS received close to 13,000 and 14,000 applications, respectively.
