Three lessons in money management

SMU School of Accountancy student Margaretha Sherlyana Go shared her thoughts on money management.  A student trainer in the Citi-SMU Financial Literacy Programme for Young Adults, She wrote about redefining needs and wants, the importance of budgeting, as well as the significance of cost savings. She said that money management boils down to simple habits of mind, urging the readers to realise that their self-restraint and mindfulness guard the narrow gap between what they want and what they need. In addition, she encouraged readers to have a budget and cautioned them against blowing their savings by splurging.
