SMU School of Economics alumnus Quanda Ng was featured in an article about his entrepreneurial journey. He shared that he had given up his job to set up his own men’s designer bag label, Gnome & Bow. Gnome & Bow was founded on the notion that bags can go beyond functionality to become a new medium for storytelling and specialises in selling briefcases, haversacks, belts and courier bags. It had been Mr Ong’s dream since 18 to start his own fashion label, and through crowdfunding and his own savings, he started Gnome & Bow with a capital of S$60,000 dollars. He also noted that one should strive to be innovative and different from the rest when doing business, in which he stressed the importance to ensuring business continuity and sustainability.
