DBS Bank and SMU have joined forces to operate the Life Analytics Lab, a new research lab that is trying to uncover new digital consumer trends amid social media. Commenting on the opening of the new lab, SMU School of Information Systems Dean, Vice Provost (Research) and Professor of Information Systems (Practice) Steven Miller noted that it would help to better understand social trends and social behaviour and that the findings could be used to create new products or improve current offerings. DBS is funding the new lab but the research will be driven by the analytics capabilities SMU developed from its Living Analytics Research Centre, formed in 2011 through funding by the National Research Foundation
