SMU Associate Professor of Information Systems and Deputy Director (Research), Fujitsu-SMU Urban Computing & Engineering Corp Lab (UNiCEN) Cheng Shih-Fen commented on a project that UNiCEN aims to build in five years where top-notch transit services will be provided without the need for high-cost infrastructure building. Associate Prof Cheng believes that the project is possible, adding that it is pivotal to increase capacity without building more infrastructure as Singapore is an island city with very limited space for infrastructure expansion.
