In a special feature, SMU School of Accountancy Dean and Professor of Accounting Cheng Qiang shared his latest research on Chief Executive Officers’ pay, independent directors and corporate site visits. He talked briefly about his teaching interests and the challenge SMU faces in staying relevant and attractive as a place to study accountancy. He is currently working on changing the four-year SMU programme to attract top students, and is also looking at expanding the Master of Professional Accounting programme.
