First batch SAF "Warriors" complete SMU postgraduate studies

At the SMU Warriors Graduation and Conferral Celebration held on 15 July, the inaugural batch of 10 graduates under the SMU Warriors Scholarship (SWS) was conferred postgraduate degrees. Launched in January 2014, the SWS programme offers retiring SAF personnel bond-free scholarships with 21 SMU postgraduate programmes to choose from. Two pioneer graduates, Colonel (NS) Jeff Chin Pak Chuen and Colonel (NS) Yong Wui Chiang shared their studying experiences that helped enable new opportunities for second careers. Colonel (NS) Chin is now the co-founder of technology start-up DingGo, and Colonel (NS) Yong is the Director of Strategic Planning in the Ministry of Communications and Information. SMU Dean of Postgraduate Professional Programmes and Professor of Marketing (Practice) Philip Zerrillo commended SMU ‘Warriors’, saying that these officers brought knowledge, integrity, discipline, ethics to provide unique experiences to the postgraduate programmes.
