In a commentary, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan shared his views on the formation of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (EBRC). He expected the EBRC to recommend a smaller increase or no change in the number of elected Members of Parliament, adding that it is unlikely for six-member Group Representative Constituencies to remain. Associate Prof Tan also said that there is no requirement for an EBRC to be appointed under local laws, but such a committee can level the playing field.
