In a special feature, SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business Dean and Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Gerry George commented that working with organisations to create initiatives not only provides financial support but also offers opportunities for faculty members to conduct research and for students to gain experience. He emphasised that the goal is to “make the boundaries of the University porous”, so that partnerships are done in a seamless and efficient manner. The article also mentioned a number of initiatives organised by SMU and some partner corporations, such as the various internship progammes with MasterCard, the BNP Paribas-SMU Fellowship Award, the UOB-SMU Asian Enterprise Institute, and the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics.
