SMU undergraduate and Taekwondo poomsae exponent Chelsea Sim will be battling for gold in this year’s Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. She had been advised in 2012 by her Meridian Junior College principal to repeat a year of school to focus on the Games the first year and her exams the next, but ultimately managed two distinctions and earned a place at SMU, while earning a 2013 Games silver. She has finished her examinations earlier this month, and now trains twice a day for the upcoming Games.
