Commenting on how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can avoid violating the Competition Act, SMU Associate Professor of Strategic Management Tan Wee Liang said that when SMEs gather to discuss the latest developments in the industry, they can talk about pricing issues, but they cannot discuss and agree to fix prices, which would be anti-competitive behaviour and is therefore a violation of Singapore’s Competition Act.
