In an interview, SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB) Dean Professor Gerard George spoke on building entrepreneurial thinking in his students. Prof George, who began his five-year-term as dean on January 1, plans to oversee and develop a new course in the school next semester, titled “Managing in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) Context”. LKCSB is now developing several case studies to create situations that will require entrepreneurial thinking in students of the course, and also ramping up its entrepreneurship initiatives. Prof George hopes to raise his students’ overseas exposure, and urges them to look beyond the usual entrepreneurial hotspots such as Silicon Valley.
