SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented on the appointment of Minister of Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing to the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). He said that current NTUC secretary-general Mr Lim Swee Say is probably needed to anchor the PAP team contesting in the East Coast GRC, though he would probably not remain in the Cabinet after the next General Election as he had expressed his desire to retire from politics.
