SMU, Fujitsu and A*Star launched a new research institute in Singapore on Wednesday. The three parties will invest a combined S$54m in the Urban Computing and Engineering Center of Excellence, where the city-state hopes to learn how to improve mobility with minimal investments in roads, ports and other infrastructure. The two main areas of focus are urban mobility management, and maritime and port optimisation.
