In a commentary, SMU adjunct faculty member Larry Haverkamp described seven steps that Singapore took to prosperity. They include securing foreign investment, recruiting foreign talent, ensuring stable government, making sound investments, developing comparative advantage, maintaining a strong currency and establishing an effective legal system.
