SMU hosted a panel discussion on “Leadership beyond 2015” in partnership with Channel NewsAsia. The panel comprised SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer; Kishore Mahbubani, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy; Piyush Gupta, CEO and Director of DBS Group; and Gill McLaren, General Manager (Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei Region) of The Coca-Cola Company. Professor De Meyer commented that leadership is situational, and with the challenges of today, we need a different kind of leadership. He emphasised the need for a collaborative-style of leadership with leaders who listen to different opinions, can convince people with passion, and who are adaptable as the world becomes more complex.
