Commenting on the reopening by President Tony Tan of the 12th Parliament after its mid-term break, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan felt there was continuity of the broad themes of inclusive growth and the need for constructive politics. He said that the President pointing out the importance of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee was perhaps a message that “if we keep that pioneering spirit, no challenge is going to be beyond the current generation of Singaporeans”.
