SMU second in top moot court contest

SMU team beat over 100 teams at international rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Contest in Washington DC.

SMU's moot team has scored first runner-up position at the world's largest moot court competition for the second time.  On Saturday, 12 April 2014, the moot team from SMU School of Law represented the country for the second consecutive time at the 55th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington DC.  On the way to the championship round, the SMU team, comprising Carren Thung, Chua Wei Yuan, Kenny Lau, Nicholas Liu and Yeo Gek Min, beat more than 100 teams from around the world, including teams from top institutions such as Oxford University and Kind's College London.  SMU was also the only Asian team in the Semi-finals which featured teams from Australia, United Kingdom and the United States.
