During her university days, SMU graduate Zulaikha Mohamed Zainol Abidin helped foreign exchange students to adjust to life in Singapore by taking them on trips around the island to familiarise them with the different cultures of the people, as well as learn about local history and heritage through activities organised by the SMU International Connections (SMU Icon) student club. Zulaikha’s experiences through SMU Icon also taught her to be more sensitive to the cultures of her peers in her working life and maintain harmony and professionalism at the workplace.
