SMU conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Business on Mr Ratan Tata for his is achievements as a visionary entrepreneur and a societal leader. The honorary degree was jointly presented to Mr Tata, chairman emeritus of the Tata Group, by SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer and Singapore's Education Minister Heng Sweet Keat.
