SMU Behavioural Sciences Institute Director Professor David Chan explained the design, results and implications of a scientific experiment on reconstructive memories. The experiment was conducted in an eyewitness situation to examine how the way a question is phrased may influence one’s likelihood of remembering seeing things which in fact did not occur.
