SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan said that Lim Swee Say’s announcement that he will continue to stand for election at East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC) is a clear hint to East Coast and Bedok voters that the People’s Action Party (PAP) will not easily give up on the GRC. The PAP is also saying that the team running the GRC will continue to be led by an experienced Minister. Associate Prof Tan added it is thus likely that the electoral boundaries of this GRC will see few major changes for the next general election.
