S$100m grant to help local universities build research strengths

SMU is one of the public funded autonomous universities that are eligible for the Medium-sized Research Centre Grant launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to help local universities build their research strengths and deepen their competencies. The funding will be up to S$100 million over 10 years. NRF will fund 50 per cent of the budget while the rest will come from the centre. This was announced by Health Minister Gan Kim Yong at the second Global Young Scientists Summit@one-north on Sunday.
