For the first time, future SAF retirees will get the opportunity to secure non-bonded education scholarships to help them further their studies and move on to other careers. The 20 scholarships worth a total of $1 million annually will be offered over a period of three years by SMU following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SMU and SAF. For a start, five senior SAF officers have been selected to receive the scholarships.
