Executive master of business administration in the spotlight

Local universities – SMU, NUS and NTU – and international business schools such as Insead offer some of the 300 executive MBA programmes available in Singapore. SMU Associate Professor of Corporate Communications (Practice) Gregor Halff, who oversees the MBA and EMBA programmes at SMU, said that demand for the EMBA continues to soar in Asia because companies and executives are figuring out how to handle growth, and markets such as China, India and South-east Asia are so diverse. SMU has recorded a 60 to 70 per cent increase in the number of EMBA applicants since it began the programme in 2011, while applications at Nanyang Business School have increased 50 per cent since the programme was launched in 2007.
