Hungry for success

Two undergraduates from SMU were responsible for conceptualising two new eateries, among the prominent food names gathering at the new Westgate mall in Jurong East. Vietnamese quick service restaurant Pho Street, was spearheaded by SMU finance major Seah Yiyuan, while Griddy, a savoury waffle restaurant. is managed by SMU business major Joshua Chia. Both are owned by Select Group, which hired Mr Seah as an intern with the company. Mr Chia, on the other hand, is the first scholar under its SME-Spring Scholarship Programme.
