Chief secy promises State Innovation Council soon

As part of SMU’s India Initiatives, SMU organised the Inclusive Innovation Summit 2013, together with the Confederation of Indian Industry, on the theme “Innovating Practices in Turbulent Times”. Speaking at the event, Maharashtra state chief secretary Jayant Kumar Banthia said that the state would soon be setting up a State Innovation Council. He said that R&D requires financial support, and hence it was necessary to institutionalise the same to trigger the innovation mechanism.
