Chinese netizens launch animation channel that garners 2 million hits in 4 days

SMU Associate Professor Eugene Tan commented that the five-minute animation clip started by Chinese netizens that shows how American, British and Chinese political leaders are moulded does not comprehensively reflect the American and British political systems. Singaporean viewers who were interviewed noted that the perspective of the clip-makers was biased as it only showed the demerits of the Western systems while praising the Chinese system. Associate Prof Tan agreed with their views, and said that while the negative coverage of the Western systems was factually accurate, the clip-makers had chosen to focus on aspects of the systems that Asians tend not to approve of, like the US practice of amassing huge political donations before an election.
