Call to make eldercare leave compulsory

During the 7th Singapore Children's Society Lecture held at SMU last Saturday, Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob delivered a keynote address on work-life balance and commented that balancing work and family life is the single most daunting challenge that many in Singapore face today. She stressed the need for a more comprehensive set of public policy and community measures to support families in view of a growing number of dual income homes, where both parents are under pressure to juggle work and family.
