Challenge of achieving service excellence

At the panel session held at the Institute of Service Excellence at SMU (ISES) industry forum held earlier this month, it was pointed out that one challenge facing businesses in Singapore is motivating employees to deliver excellent service, and retaining talent in a tight labour market. One solution proposed was giving talented junior staff a high level of responsibility so that they feel valued by their employers. The topic on driving productivity was also discussed.
