Speaking at the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership in Asia Public Lecture held at the SMU on Sunday, Myanmar’s democracy icon and opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi said that an excellent leader should not only lead, but also persuade citizens to follow. Ms Suu Kyi also highlighted the importance of law and the democratic process in pushing forward Myanmar’s path to change. Government officials, business leaders, academics and students attended the lecture.
