NSmen deserve more study options

Online teaching that complements ‘live’ lectures could help to make up for the ‘two-year gap’, which young men have to deal with for having to put off university studies until they have completed national service. NUS plans to introduce online teaching by allowing NSmen who have served their stint to take online courses months before the start of the academic year. Currently, SMU and NTU offer special terms between April and June for NSmen to enrol before the formal year opens.
